MY ASH WEDNESDAY MASS AT ST.ANTHONY KL

Shallom, and happy Ash Wednesday to you all..

Today is 25th Februari 2009, and also an Ash Wednesday which is a beginning of Pre Easter and fasting day.Today I’m fasting and I juz made it at half day, not because I’m unable to make a full day ,but I had to accompany my Muslims friends for lunch and I have to eat with them, so I decided to make it at a half day.But i promised to myself that I’m going to mass this evening.

Today I worked outstation , so I tried to not make some ‘sins’ in this fast and abstinence day, so I just keep quite and low profile, but the others keep giving me some junk food and they’re talked bout something bad bout our bosses and complaining everything, from the morning till we went home, I tried not to get in the conversation cuz I’m trying to make my self ‘holy’ all day till the mass..hahaah…and I think I made it

So I went home at 4 pm, I escaped an hour, I asked my colleagues to punch out my card, and rush for home, and when I got home, I slept bout an hour and after that I took a bath, and went to the church at 6pm . I was worried bout the weather, coz it looks like going to tears, it’s so dark and quite breezy, I’m just hoping that I can make it to the church before the rains tears ,unfortunately right after I steeped out from LRT in Plaza Rakyat, the rain burst out like it never rain for years….(sighed) … I only positive thinking and tried to checked the shop for umbrella , and after I bought one, I rush to the church , but…I just can believe it , that the path that I used to walked to the church was filled with waters, and it will soaks my shoe and my trouser, and also the waters are so fast and all over the roads, I’m kind a gave up, lots peoples that headed to the church stuck and jammed there, I’m thinking bout going back or go to Sogo for windows shopping, but my heart don’t want to defeated by this bad weather, the rains still tearing and become more and more heavy, but I said to myself, it’s okay to be late and wet than give up so easily .

So I crossed the road, went to the opposite, and walked without any obstacles of water, my shoe started to wet but it’s okay as long as not my whole shoe are soaked, in the end of the day I made to the last path headed to the church junction, and I think the mass is started about 15 minutes ago, …one last obstacles, I’m kind of “WTF”…I guess u can figure it out that abbreviation huh, the road was filled with water and almost touch my knee, I don’t want my shoe to get soak, the water are so fast and I have no choice , I have to cross that road and get soaked. So I just go on, and know what, I get inside the church with my trouser and shoe soaked and wet and the wetted the floor…ha ha ha..Father Jetsus please forgive me..

I’m feel so uncomfortable with my shoe filled with water, so I decided to dry my shoe, so I’m shoeless…but not the only me that shoeless, many more and they also shoeless when to the communion and the forehead ash marking…it was the hymn when I entered the church, this mass was conducted in 3 languages, Tamil, English and Malay…the hymn is in Tamil , it’s kind a funny ,coz I thought I was in the wrong mass…hahhah…anyway, I made it to the mass, and I’m satisfied that I made my responsibility as Catholic, so the mass ended at 7.40pm..the rains stopped and I went home.

What I trying to share here are I hope we don’t easily defeated by this kind of obstacles, as Satan will always spying over us, and when we’re in happy situation , they will come to us to disturb us and make us against all the happiness, and this opportunity I want to wish you all happy fasting and lets us make this season more meaningful as we all expecting the Easter where Jesus rose from death. Amen.
